Herbert, who has plenty of experience on the water thanks to Caribbean and Florida roots, has spent much of her life living near and enjoying Lake Conroe. She believes the lake’s size, location and vibe make it attractive.

“It’s a large lake, so there’s many places to do different activities. You have spots where the water can be choppy that are great for jet skiing. You have areas where it's calm so you can go kayaking or paddleboarding. It’s just such a diverse lake,” said Herbert. “It’s centrally located, being 45 minutes outside of one of the largest and most diverse cities in the world. People love that easy accessibility.”
