The Texas Economic Development Council awarded the Conroe Economic Development Council (CEDC) with Economic Excellence Recognition, an honor given to organizations demonstrating a high level of professionalism and effectiveness. This award captures the essence of our organization – we aim to provide excellent service and professional support to new and existing businesses within Conroe.

About Us

Our mission is to enhance the strength and stability of the greater Conroe economy through the support of existing industry and the attraction of manufacturing and service sector business (basic industries) which bring new capital and employment opportunities into the community.

As a city department, we are funded by 4B sales tax and overseen by the seven-member Conroe Industrial Development Corporation Board of Directors. Additionally, our CEDC Advisory Board includes key economic development allies that provide assistance with our strategic direction. We focus on the recruitment, retention and expansion of large and small businesses.

Serving as a business concierge, our team is highly responsive to the needs of local developers and businesses, and we provide complete project support from site selection assistance to helping secure the incentives necessary to make a project viable. We also offer permitting and licensing assistance, coordination of utilities and local stakeholders and help solving unique or business-specific challenges. 

Businesses who locate in Conroe receive continued support through our robust Business Retention and Expansion program. This may include annual site visits, in addition to our staff being available via phone calls and emails to help solve challenges and support growth.
