VGXI, Inc., a contract developer and manufacturer of biopharmaceuticals including vaccines and gene therapies, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 7, 2022, at their new headquarters and manufacturing facility in Conroe’s Deison Technology Park.

The company worked closely with the Conroe Economic Development Council to target the land and become the park’s inaugural occupant. VGXI made the decision to move their headquarters from The Woodlands to Conroe to expand production and create a state-of-the-art environment for their employees.

The company celebrated the grand opening of the 120,000-square-foot facility by welcoming employees, dignitaries, and local stakeholders to see the facility. Young Park, President and CEO, offered words about what it meant to unveil this highly anticipated project.

“It is very moving for me to share this with all of you,” said Park. “The moment we saw this location, we said, ‘This is it.’”

According to VGXI, their new headquarters features four distinct manufacturing trains with state-of-the-art production equipment. Dedicated areas are also available for mRNA manufacturing and small-scale, rapid turnaround services for personalized therapies.

A tour of the facility also revealed abundant office space, conference and break-out rooms, an employee library, and a training room. VGXI’s vision includes future growth.

“This is a special and historic day for VGXI. We are a small, but growing company,” said Dorothy Peterson, COO.

“We plan to enjoy this land for many years to come. We are excited to bring employment to Conroe and grow our team at VGXI,” added Park.

VGXI is a subsidiary of Seoul, South Korea-based GeneOne Life Science, Inc. Ambassador Myung-Soo Ahn, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Houston, provided remarks on the project’s significance.

“Today is the beginning of much bigger success in the near future. This grand opening presents a symbol of collaboration between our two countries,” offered Ahn.
