Conroe EDC Supports Small Business Week
May 3, 2022
Small businesses are the backbone of communities across America. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) indicates that 99.9% of all businesses in the country qualify as small businesses, which employ 47.1% of U.S. employees. In addition to job creation, these businesses keep money with the local citizenry, build a critical tax base that allows for various local projects, and often play a significant role in defining a community’s identity. The small businesses of Conroe, Texas, actively contribute to these benefits, and the Conroe Economic Development Council (CEDC) is here to help them succeed.
Celebrating Small Business Across the U.S.A.
Sponsored by the SBA, May 2 - 5 is National Small Business Week (NSBW). This year, the SBA is hosting a virtual event filled with many activities, including localized events, targeted to assist and recognize small businesses. The SBA helps small businesses in many ways, including free business counseling and accessing critical funding for a range of projects.

The CEDC is Here to Help
The CEDC understands the importance of the sustainability of economic growth. We have a strong Business Retention and Expansion program designed to promote the growth and development of local companies. Company representatives are encouraged to call and discuss any challenges they may be facing, get help coordinating utilities for development projects or to report any issues, receive permitting assistance, help connect with local service providers, workforce development support, assistance with expansion projects, and more.
Serving as a primary connection to many critical area networking opportunities for owners and professionals, the CEDC maintains a vibrant list of partnerships and business resources dedicated to local business success. One significant resource is SizeUpConroeTX, a business intelligence tool that helps entrepreneurs and small businesses to learn the landscape by discovering customers, suppliers, and competitors in Conroe. The free online resource improves small business competitiveness by delivering the same data advantages previously only available to large corporations.
The CEDC works to support entrepreneurs and small businesses, focuses on business retention and expansion, leads workforce development, and assists with marketing and promotion to ensure the local community can achieve the highest quality of life possible. Contact us to see how we can help today!
