9th Annual Conroe Job Fair Set for March 30 Utilizing Virtual Platform

    March 11, 2021

The 9th Annual Conroe Job Fair will be held virtually on Tuesday, March 30, from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The event is hosted collaboratively by the Conroe Economic Development Council (CEDC), Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber, Lone Star College, and Workforce Solutions.

Careers in engineering, education, welding, machining, healthcare, accounting, sales, and more are expected to be filled by local companies. Previous Conroe Job Fairs have welcomed more than 600 job seekers and more than 60 hiring companies.

Job seekers will utilize Workforce Solutions’ virtual platform to search and apply for open positions. When attendees click on a company’s name, the interactive platform will make it appear as if the applicant is walking into the lobby of the company’s building. Once inside the company’s virtual lobby, job seekers will be able to access information about the company, browse job openings, and send messages to chat with hiring managers. While company representatives will be online until 5:00 p.m., the event platform will be open until midnight to accept applications.

Companies looking to participate in the Job Fair can purchase booths at www.Conroe.org or by calling 936-756-6644. Businesses can customize virtual lobbies to fit their personality. Sponsorships are available by contacting the CEDC or Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber.

Job seekers must pre-register for the free event at www.Conroe.org. In advance of the Job Fair, applicants will have the opportunity to attend workshops from Workforce Solutions to fine tune their skills. Dates and topics for these workshops include:

    • March 22: A Targeted Plan
    • March 23: Job Readiness Toolkit
    • March 24: Sharpening Your Interviewing Skills
    • March 25: Closing the Deal

All workshops are virtual and scheduled for 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Interested participants can register by reaching out to the CEDC, Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber, or Workforce Solutions. More information is available at www.Conroe.org.
