Merry & Bright is Made Here Featuring Makeup Junkie Bags

    December 14, 2020

Like the lights that decorate businesses and homes this time of year, Conroe’s economic strength and friendly charm are on display. Loaded with local merchants and holiday festivities, Conroe is brimming with cheer and a positive business outlook. In Conroe, Merry & Bright is Made Here.

Makeup Junkie Bags, a Conroe company racing towards a merry holiday outlook and a bright future, exemplifies “Merry & Bright.” Founded in late 2016 by Conroe entrepreneur Meredith Jurica, Makeup Junkie Bags brings together passion and practicality to create locally made products, such as a lay flat, accessible, moisture-resistant cosmetic bag, that are sure to be a hit under the Christmas Tree.

Makeup Junkie Bags was created when Jurica went on an unsuccessful search for the perfect cosmetic bag. Taking matters into her own hands, Jurica began designing, making, and selling her functional, customized bags from her Conroe home. Now sold in more than 5,000 stores, Makeup Junkie Bags has amassed a national customer base. Jurica uses one of her "quotes to live by" to explain the success.

“Imagination plus cultivation equals manifestation,” offered Jurica. “Success does not fall in your lap. You have to work for it.”

Bolstered by an appearance on the TV show Shark Tank in 2019, and mentions in USA Today and People Magazine, sales continue to surge. Despite a national following, Jurica, known to many as MJ, and Makeup Junkie Bags furthered their investment in Conroe with the grand opening of a new storefront in River Bend Station in November 2020. With 18,000 square-feet of retail, manufacturing, and distribution space and 45 local employees on its payroll, the company’s Conroe commitment is solid. Makeup Junkie Bags enjoys being a part of the Conroe community and believes in the value of supporting local businesses.

“The local community is a big reason we are what we are. We are very thankful to be a part of Conroe,” said Jurica. “Small businesses are the foundation of community. When customers put their heart and soul into supporting businesses by shopping local, the businesses are in position to give back to the local community.”

Customers can browse shelves and racks of Conroe-made bags, apparel, and more to fulfill their holiday wish lists. Expanded product lines and recent launches of new items, such as Modern Jester apparel in October 2020, offer shoppers everything from stockings to stocking stuffers.

“I am really excited about our new products. We had a huge launch, including purses, cosmetics, and custom stockings, just in time for the holidays,” offered Jurica.

In addition to their own store in Conroe, Makeup Junkie Bags can be found at other local merchants such as Hello Beautiful Boutique and Sweet Texas Treasures Boutique. You can also shop for Makeup Junkie Bags on their website.

Paralleling the Conroe economy, Makeup Junkie Bags has a cheerful outlook and a vibrant future. With hundreds of hand-crafted, Conroe-made gifts prepared for the holidays, Makeup Junkie Bags is perfect for your shop local adventure. Stop by Makeup Junkie Bags and find out why in Conroe, Texas, Merry & Bright is Made Here.
