Conroe Regional Medical Center Acquires Level II Trauma Designation

28 Dec 2016

The American College of Surgeons and the State of Texas designated Conroe Regional Medical Center as a Level II Trauma Center, making the CRMC one of the first hospitals in the greater Houston area to be recognized with such a distinction.

According to the president of the HCA Gulf Coast Division Troy A. Villarreal, Level II Trauma Centers provide comprehensive trauma care, offering 24-hour availability of all essential specialties, personnel and equipment.  These services are in high demand, particularly in rapidly growing communities like Conroe.  Studies have shown that chances of recovery are greatly increased when patients are the recipients of care at a designated trauma center.  CRMC’s trauma program is staffed around the clock by in-house trauma surgeons and physician specialists, including neurosurgeons and maxillofacial and orthopedic surgeons.

To receive a Level II trauma designation, CRMC had to meet extensive criteria and pass numerous site reviews and evaluations.  Achieving this distinction is extremely difficult, and the dedication the staff at CRMC has to this level of care is already resulting in the saving of more lives in the Conroe area.

The GCEDC is proud of CRMC for this achievement and offers heartfelt thanks to the staff members who have dedicated their lives to saving those of their neighbors in the Conroe Community.
