Conroe to Grow with Newest Howard Hughes Corporation Development

    July 18, 2017

The Howard Hughes Corporation recently announced details for a new master-planned community in north Conroe and neighboring Willis. The new community, The Woodlands Hills, will be located on FM 830, west of Interstate 45. The community extends south to League Line Road and north to FM 1097 in Willis. The Howard Hughes development will help meet growing retail and residential demand in the growing Conroe region north of Houston.

The 2,000 acre community will include a retail village center, in addition to more than 4,500 residences, 20 neighborhood parks, and hike and bike trails. The retail village center is expected to attract numerous businesses to the booming region.. The new homes will increase housing supply to help meet growing demand.

The city of Conroe population jumped 5,924 residents from July of 2015 to July of 2016, according to U.S. Census Bureau statistics ranking Conroe the fastest growing city in the nation, by percentage. Conroe population grew from 76,362 residents to 82,286 residents, a 7.8 percent growth in one year.

Location will be a large part of the appeal for The Woodlands Hills. The community will have easy access to much of the nearby infrastructure, including I-45, the Hardy Toll Road, and the Grand Parkway. Additionally, featuring its own hike and bike trails and being located in close proximity to Lake Conroe and the Sam Houston National Forest, the community will be able to showcase why Conroe is a great place for active families and recreation lovers.

The Woodlands Hills is expected to welcome residents beginning in the first half of 2018. Details on home builders and retail tenants are forthcoming. You can learn more about the new development at www.thewoodlandshills.com. The Howard Hughes Corporation owns, manages and develops commercial, residential and mixed-use real estate throughout the U.S., including Hughes Landing in The Woodlands, Montgomery County.
