Conroe EDC Exhibits Dedication to Foreign Investment at SelectUSA

18 Jul 2017

The Conroe Economic Development Council (Conroe EDC) displayed their commitment to foreign investment at the SelectUSA Investment Summit held in Washington D.C., June 18-20, 2017.

Conroe EDC was one of 23 Team Texas partners in attendance, including two representatives from the Office of the Governor. The summit welcomed more than 2,800 participants from 61 international markets and all 50 states.

Foreign investment has been an emphasis for the Conroe EDC in recent years, as exhibited by the amount of global companies locating in Conroe. Conroe Park North, a 1,045-acre industrial park, has been an attractive landing spot for global businesses looking to create a presence in the area.

A present look at Conroe Park North reveals multiple projects with global ties under construction, or soon to be under construction. ICOTEX, a joint venture between Germany-based Jungheinrich and Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America, Galdisa, a Mexican company specializing in peanut processing and distributing, and Memstar, a China-based company that makes equipment for the water treatment industry, are the newest additions to the Conroe Park North community.

“It was an honor to join Team Texas in illustrating why Texas is a top destination for foreign direct investment,” said Danielle Scheiner, Deputy Director of Conroe EDC. “Conroe EDC has been dedicated to foreign investment and SelectUSA is a great opportunity to showcase Conroe to global companies looking to establish their business in the United States.”

The SelectUSA Investment Summit is the highest-profile event dedicated to promoting foreign direct investment (FDI) in the United States.  SelectUSA provides an opportunity to bring together companies from all over the world with economic development organizations to facilitate business involvement in the United States. Senior government officials, business executives, and other thought leaders attend the summit, which focuses on a timely theme related to the U.S. investment environment, industry trends, and new opportunities.
