Conroe Economic Development Council Announces Completion of Purchase for Conroe Park North Expansion

20 Jun 2018

The Conroe Economic Development Council (Conroe EDC) announced that the City of Conroe has finalized the purchase of an additional 610 acres to expand Conroe Park North and keep up with growth and demand for quality industrial sites in Conroe. The additional acreage will be adjacent to the existing 1,045 acres that makes up Conroe Park North, home to nearly 30 companies and over 3,000 employees. Currently, Conroe Park North is over 80% sold.

The $23 million purchase, previously approved by Conroe City Council in February, was acquired through the use of sales tax revenue bonds. Infrastructure for the newly purchased expansion is expected to go out for bid later this year.

“It was important for Conroe Park North to expand to match the growth we have seen in Conroe,” said Danielle Scheiner, Executive Director of the Conroe EDC. “The addition of 610 acres to Conroe Park North will make Conroe even more competitive when recruiting top companies to locate here. This purchase will open us up to opportunities that we may have previously missed by not having the adequate amount of land.”
