Margaritaville Lake Resort Announces Operator, Plans to Open in Summer

    December 20, 2019

CONROE, TEXAS (December 20, 2019) – Margaritaville Lake Resort, Lake Conroe-Houston is scheduled to open in the summer of 2020, according to Benchmark, a global hospitality company. Benchmark will operate the property, which will be Margaritaville brand’s first Texas resort. Margaritaville Lake Resort, which is being built at the site of the former La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa, is set on 186 acres on Lake Conroe.

The resort will include 335 guest rooms, all of which will be suites. Margaritaville Lake Resort will feature multiple dining concepts, including LandShark Bar & Grill and 5 o’Clock Somewhere Swim Up Pool Bar. The resort will also contain a bevy of recreation activities, such as an 18-hole golf course, a 3-acre waterpark, outdoor pools, and a 24-hour fitness center.

The resort will not only cater to vacationers and recreational enthusiasts. Margaritaville Lake Resort will host special events and conferences of varying size in its 72,000 square feet of meeting space.

Tom Faust, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, believes that Lake Conroe is the perfect spot for the inaugural Texas Margaritaville resort. The resort will greatly benefit from its location and proximity to large population centers.

“Margaritaville Lake Resort is less than a four-hour drive from 20 million people. Very few, if any, places like this property can say that,” offered Faust. “We expect people to travel from all over Texas and beyond to Lake Conroe to enjoy the unique Margaritaville experience.”

Faust believes that the resort can be the focal point for Lake Conroe and a great partner for the Conroe community.

“Margaritaville is committed to be a wonderful neighbor and servant for the Conroe community. We want people to be proud of paradise in their backyard and look to the resort as the centerpiece of Lake Conroe,” added Faust.

The resort is a joint venture of Songy Highroads and The Wampold Companies. Margaritaville Lake Resort will be a part of Benchmark’s signature brand, Benchmark Resorts and Hotels.
