Conroe EDC Hires Laura Lea Palmer as Deputy Director

CONROE, TEXAS (December 20, 2019) – The Conroe Economic Development Council (CEDC) announces the hiring of Laura Lea Palmer as Deputy Director. Palmer comes to the CEDC after nearly nine years with The Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership, where she served as Senior Vice President, Recruitment and Retention.

Using her 12 years of business development, marketing and economic development experience, Palmer will recruit new business to Conroe, while promoting Conroe and its assets to national and international prospects. Her responsibilities also include assisting with operations, strategic planning, and contractual and governmental relationships of the CEDC.

Palmer is a Certified Economic Developer and a graduate of University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute. Her credentials also include a Business Retention and Expansion Coordinator certification through the Business Retention Expansion International organization.

“Laura Lea’s expertise in economic development and her knowledge of Conroe and Montgomery County make her a perfect fit for our organization,” said Danielle Scheiner, CEDC Executive Director. “Her strong experience, creativity, and energy will be major assets as we reach our goal of attracting top companies and quality jobs to Conroe.”

Palmer earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Mississippi. She is a graduate and current board member of Leadership Montgomery County. Palmer serves as Vice-Chair of the Education for Tomorrow Alliance and is an active member of the Commercial Real Estate Association of Montgomery County.
