Hyatt Regency Conroe Meeting Needs of Conroe Business Community

    December 19, 2023

Officially opened May 25, 2023, Hyatt Regency Conroe provides an ideal blend of modern guest amenities and flexible meeting space to satisfy the needs of leisure and business travelers. Its proximity to Conroe’s thriving business community also provides an opportunity for the hotel to host local industry leaders as they entertain employees and customers.

The first full-service, non-resort hotel in Conroe features 250 guest rooms, 13 suites, and 30,000 square feet of convention meeting space. Amenities include an outdoor courtyard with a cozy fire pit, outdoor swimming pool, 24-hour fitness center, grab-and-go market, lobby bar, and a signature restaurant. The restaurant, Conroux, combines Texas Gulf Coast and Vietnamese flavors for a spin on the popular Viet-Cajun cuisine.

Hyatt Regency Conroe serves as an anchor to the booming new Grand Central Park development. Located on Grand Central Parkway near I-45, visitors searching for dining, entertainment, or relaxation can easily find the hotel as a welcoming escape, combining the beauty of its natural surroundings with elegant modern amenities for the perfect blend of nature and comfort.

“It works well for us to be at the entrance of a great community. The facility and the location serves Conroe very well as it continues to grow,” said Hyatt Regency Conroe General Manager, Roberto Intriago. “Hyatt Regency Conroe’s flexible rooms and accessible location make it ideal for individuals traveling to Montgomery County for business. The convention center is attracting large groups to the city, spurring commerce and raising awareness for Conroe as a destination.”

The hotel is carefully designed to meet business needs. The meeting space, which holds up to 1,300 visitors, is thoughtfully divided into a 14,000 square-foot ballroom, a 6,000 square-foot ballroom, two board rooms, several breakout rooms, and networking lounges. A separate entrance allows event attendees to bypass the hotel lobby, although many will want to roam the welcoming gateway to the hotel.

“The Hyatt Regency brand prides itself on being the go-to gathering space for every occasion, from personalized, high-touch business meetings to energizing family vacations. The Hyatt Regency brand’s dynamic portfolio of urban and resort properties offer modern spaces designed for collaboration and community – including open and spacious lobbies that provide the perfect areas to work and relax, well-equipped fitness centers, as well as a variety of restaurants, bars, and markets that allow guests to create meaningful connections while traveling for business meetings, a vacation with family and friends,  or both,” offered Intriago.

The hotel has been working diligently to engage the Conroe business community and the efforts are being reciprocated. Conroe Economic Development Council recently hosted a networking mixer for Conroe manufacturers at the hotel. While some attendees were first-time visitors to Conroe’s convention hotel and effused compliments about the location, experience, and quality, Bauer Equipment America (BEA) has been actively using the hotel and has the junior ballroom booked for a Christmas gathering.

BEA had a large presence at the mixer with the company’s CEO, CFO, and several key employees attending to enjoy the camaraderie and tasty hors d’oeuvres. Earlier this year, BEA hosted customers for an equipment expo at its Conroe facility to show off equipment used to drill, dig, and build foundations, as well as remediate soil by mixing in new dirt and components to clean tainted soil, according to Stephan Oosthuizen, CFO of BEA.

Marketing Coordinator Briauna Aikens was excited to talk about using the new convention hotel for customers visiting the expo. She felt Hyatt Regency Conroe provided a convenient and comfortable experience for guests. Aikens, who previously worked in hospitality with two large hotel chains, was complimentary of the style, feel, and quality of the Hyatt Regency Conroe experience.

A Hyatt manager provided BEA a tour of the Hyatt Regency Conroe meeting space, including the room BEA already has booked for its employee Christmas gathering. The company representatives were pleased with the spacious room, décor, and design of the junior ballroom where BEA will host its Christmas party.

The recurring theme of all attending the Hyatt Regency Conroe manufacturers mixer was “I will come back” or “I will recommend the Hyatt Regency Conroe to our customers, visitors and friends.” Others even suggested the Hyatt Regency Conroe would be excellent to celebrate vacations or “staycations.”

J.B. Cheatham, Business Development for Minco Inc., stated he would recommend the Hyatt Regency Conroe to his customers for its convenience. Cheatham recognized the ideal location and ease of parking in the large Hyatt Regency Conroe lots.

C & C Metals, Inc.’s project manager, Michael Applegate, acknowledged that Hyatt Regency Conroe was a beautiful place and he would recommend customer inspectors who visit C & C Metals to stay at the new convention hotel.

Brian Adams with Airgas, an Air Liquide company, agreed that the new Hyatt Regency Conroe was an excellent spot for company representatives to stay.

“When I go to Dallas for a company meeting, I will stay at a Hyatt Regency, so I will recommend Airgas colleagues visiting Conroe stay at the Hyatt Regency Conroe.”

Jennifer Matthews, Associate Director of CEDC, expects to bring another manufacturers mixer to the Hyatt Regency Conroe.

“Our manufacturing industry guests were more than satisfied with the location and quality of Hyatt Regency Conroe,” Matthews added. “We look forward to utilizing this property for events whenever possible.”
