Greater Conroe Economic Development Council Adds New Web Features to Attract Business
July 19, 2016
As the Conroe economy continues to grow, the Greater Conroe Economic Development Council is dedicated to meeting the growing demand of new and existing businesses. The GCEDC recognizes that staying technologically advanced is critical to attracting businesses on the cutting edge. Thus, the GCEDC updated its website, www.gcedc.org, with the help of ZoomProspector, to provide site selectors a bigger and better view of what Conroe has to offer.
ZoomProspector is a product of GIS Planning, the world leader in online economic development solutions. According to the GIS Planning website, over 13,000 U.S. cities in 43 states are served by GIS Planning’s Geographic Information System (GIS) Software, which provides real estate, demographic, and industry data to help businesses and site selection professionals select optimal geographic locations through powerful online mapping analysis.
What does that mean for Conroe and the local economy? It means that when a site selector visits http://www.conroeedc.org/site-selection/search-sites-full-page/, he or she can access an abundance of information detailing the Conroe landscape. This access will streamline the site selection process, putting Conroe in an advantageous position to land prospects. Landing those prospects will not only create new opportunities, but it will help drive the rest of business in the Conroe area.
Some features of ZoomProspector include the ability to search for buildings and sites for sale and lease, heat maps detailing demographic data, and discovering local infrastructure. For example, if you wanted to find 5,000 sq. ft. industrial sites for sale in a densely populated area, near a rail line and a post-secondary school, you can do that. There is no limit to the data you can digest from the site features.
“ZoomProspector is a game changer for the GCEDC and our website. It allows site selectors to see everything Conroe has to offer with just a few clicks of the mouse,” said GCEDC Deputy Director, Danielle Scheiner. “Conroe has much to offer prospects and the new features added to our website make that clear. I am excited to use these tools to recruit businesses to our area,” added Scheiner, who is responsible for marketing Conroe to prospective businesses.
The mission of the GCEDC is to enhance the strength and stability of the greater Conroe economy through the support of existing industry and the attraction of manufacturing and service sector businesses (basic industries) which bring new capital and employment opportunities into the community. Adding assets and technology like ZoomProspector help the GCEDC fulfill their mission.
